Precision engineered solutions
Helifix construction ties and fixings are precision engineered from stainless steel to a unique helical Hi-Fin design that combines great strength with flexibility, durability and holding power. They are corrosion resistant and flexible to accommodate normal building movements, and are easy to install and test within the building under repair, leaving nothing to chance.
Material
Helifix ties and fixings are manufactured from austenitic stainless steel, Grades 316 as standard. Indicative material data for our 6.0mm, 8.0mm and 10.0mm diameter stainless steel HeliBar are listed in the table below.
Precision engineering
Helifix ties and fixings are precision engineered to carefully monitored, exacting standards in our own UK-based factory and to our own unique helical Hi-Fin design. The Helifix design combines the required strength with flexibility and durability and provides great holding power in all commonly used building materials.
Quality assurance
Our ties are manufactured to ISO9001:2000 quality assured standards. Products are manufactured under tensile loads to enable material flaws that may be present in the base material to be exposed and eliminated at the point of manufacture, and assure the quality and reliablity of each final product. All ties have been fully tested and approved by appropriate independent authorities and building materials manufacturers...Learn more
Strength and flexibility
The Helifix Hi-Fin design strikes a precision engineered balance between strength and flexibility. All ties and fixings are rolled under tension from single stainless steel rods to give a unique helical Hi-Fin profile that provides stiffness in compression and impressive and reliable tensile strength. Exceptionally strong, the Helifix design nevertheless keeps the core diameter to a minimum to ensure the flexibility necessary to accommodate normal structural movement including differential in-plane movement between connected elements.
All Helifix ties and repair systems are proven technologies with long histories of successful, worldwide use extending over 25 years...Learn more
Security of fixing
The Helifix Hi-Fin design ensures exceptional security of fixing whether used to achieve a dry or wet fix connection and provides multiple drip points to prevent cross-cavity water transfer when used in cross-cavity tying situations. The Helifix design incorporates two hardened stainless steel fins wrapped around a slim central core. The Hi-Fin design maximises the area of the fins relative to the core and the opportunity for each tie to form a strong and reliable connection with timber and masonry substrates. In the dry fix setting (as applies with DryFix, RetroTie, StarTie and PatchPin installation) the helical fins allow each tie to cut a self-tapping path into even very hard materials, including reinforced concrete, and to form an exceptionally strong and reliable mechanical connection.
In the wet fixed setting (as applies with the installation of CemTies, HeliBars, ResiTies and RetroTies) the pronounced helical fins provide large clearance spaces around the core material so that these can become fully surrounded with grout or resin without workmanship difficulties and so that an exceptional chemical anchoring can form.
