HeliBar
Stainless steel structural reinforcement bar for stitching cracks and strengthening failed masonry
HeliBars are slim, stainless steel helical bars that can be cut to any length to suit a variety of different remedial and new build applications...Learn more
In remedial settings, HeliBars, bonded into the masonry with high performance HeliBond thixotropic cementitious grout, enable the distribution of structural loads in stressed and failed masonry.
HeliBars are the principal components of the Helibeam System and are easily installed. Depending on the circumstances, Helibars may be bonded either into clearance holes (see CemTie) or into slots cut into the masonry at predetermined levels.
HeliBars are manufactured from austenitic stainless steel, Grade 316 as standard, for high corrosion resistance. They are cold rolled under tension from single stainless steel rods to give a unique Hi-Fin profile that maximises the surface area available for bonding and that wraps around a core that provides stiffness in compression and impressive and reliable tensile strength...Learn more
HeliBar starts as round stainless steel wire with a typical 0.2% proof stress of 500MPa. However, after the cold forming manufacturing process that creates the helical Hi-Fin design, this increases to around 1000MPa. Accordingly, HeliBars are able to provide substantial tensile properties to cracked or failed masonry when bonded in with HeliBond grout, which is able to lock tightly between the fins and to the masonry.
