RetroTie

Remedial wall tie system with a dry/resin fix

RetroTie is the solution to a variety of pinning and tying problems where a dry/epoxy resin combination fixing is required.

Typically, the RetroTie system may be used as an alternative remedial wall tie solution to both the DryFix and ResiTie remedial wall tie systems. For example, RetroTies may be used to tie together unusual masonry constructions involving a combination of different materials, and where a DryFix solution involving a single pilot hole size cannot be achieved. As pictured, the RetroTie system may be used to tie together a cavity wall comprising one hard and relatively soft masonry leaf. (N.B. the DryFix system may not be suited to this situation since the pilot hole requirement for installation of the tie into the far leaf may greatly exceed the size required for installation into the near leaf.)

The RetroTie system involves driving a self-tapping, helical RetroTie into the far leaf of the wall to be tied or pinned, and resin bonding the remaining end of the tie into the near leaf with high performance Helifix EpoxyPlus TE2 resin.

APPLICATIONS

  • Versatile retrofit wall tie for situations not suited to either the DryFix or ResiTie remedial wall tie systems.
  • Suitable for larger jobs (e.g. >1000 ties).

FEATURES

  • One-piece Grade 316 stainless steel tie.
  • Effective in all common building materials.
  • Mechanical fixing, without expansion, in the far leaf.

BENEFITS

  • Economical and effective.
  • Quick and easy installation.
  • Minimal inconvenience to occupants.
  • Leaves building virtually unmarked.
  • No splitting of bricks or blocks.
